I called my mom from the bar last night to see if she knew what time I was born. We were sitting in the presence of a card-carrying astrologer, and apparently this information is vital to the process of casting charts. Other gals at the table called their moms, who could answer instantly — 8:38! — and I wanted to test my mom to see if she remembered like the Southern moms.

She guessed 7 in the morning, and later called back with 10:30pm. I guess this made her feel competitive with the other moms who remembered, so she sent me this baby picture of yours truly, along with the following sentence, in blue Comic Sans:

“………I do remember the nurse saying you were the most difficult baby she had dealt with in 35 years of newborn care.”

Does this surprise anyone?

Yep, I’m guessing they just took my beer away from me for the baby shot.
