Caipirinhas for your Sunday

P6100066.JPG

Dear beer,

It’s only been a few hours since we last spoke, but already the fates are conspiring against us. The state of Georgia won’t let me buy you today, my dear, because today is Jesus day, and everyone knows that the one thing that Mr. Water-into-Wine was against was booze.

You know I miss you baby.

I can explain the picture. It’s not what it looks like.

Sure, it’s a delicious caipirinha in the making - a delicious Brazilian concoction of lime, sugar, ice and booze.

But it’s only because I couldn’t be with you, baby.

Honest.

Caipirinha Recipe (American style)

  • Mash together a bowl of ice and lime wedges - about 5 or so full limes
  • Pour in approximately 3/4 a bottle of vodka
  • Add 4TB simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, dissolved together)
  • Mix together, pour into glasses
  • Enjoy, ignoring beer’s phone calls, texts, IMs, and MySpace messages

p.s. Brazilians would use cachaça, a sugarcane liquor, not vodka.
