Happy Thanksgiving!
I had the best Thanksgiving in ages here at the Rising Cock Hostel in Lagos, Portugal. We cooked a massive feast for all the guests, then laid it out family-style at a huge table. Lots of the kids had never had an American Thanksgiving before, so it was pretty cool getting to share something about America that doesn’t suck.
Check that bird!!
These pics aren’t up to my standards, since they’re all flash-ifed, but it gives you an idea of how awesome this spread was.
A little greens, tossed with lemon, garlic and Portuguese honey. Homemade stuffing, with bread cubes sauteed in butter, with celery, onion, sausage and other yummy goodness.
Check the plating … I’m really obsessed with plating nowadays.
Kudos to Chef Sharon, who totally went to the same elementary school as me in Phoenix. Madison Meadows in the house! These are all her recipes; I just did a little assisting in the kitchen.
Here’s more pics. (Cockinians who were lucky enough to be here, send me more!!)
