Lulu’s">Lulu’s

Right now, I’m sitting in the oddest of places; a Texas diner which prides itself on a (yet untasted) chicken fried steak the size of my head. It inexplicably has wi-fi — a rarity in these parts. There is a man sitting behind me with a stutter so odd that it seems like he might have been engaging in some sort of drugs this evening. It smells like he has. I’m not sure what to think of anything right now. It’s only about two weeks until I head off to sunny Florida, where the urge to write “sunny Florida” will no doubt be squashed mercilessily. The days in between now and then loom: stretching with impatience, shrinking with panic. I fell into this job quite easily, wrote quite easily, talked to all walks of life quite easily. Journeying to Florida then seems to be the test that I so far had exempted myself from.
