Pedometer Challenge!
My friend Katie and I have much in common.
From behind, we are mistaken for each other. We both work on computers all day. We love to eat and cook and drink beers with our pals.
We have similar political viewpoints - although while I just blog about mine, she lives hers.
It might not surprise you that Katie and I - both formally skinny ladies - are now engaged in the battle of the beer-bulge.
So, for my birthday, Katie got me a pedometer.
Apparently, one is supposed to walk 10,000 steps a day. That seems like a lot to me - but the first step is assessing the number of steps I’m actually taking.
And so, dear blog readers, future blog posts will now include info on the number of steps Katie and I have taken that day- up to the very minute!

Ha ha, Katie’s beating you.

It’s 9:28 and I am a mere 18 steps from my 10,000 step goal. I plan on rewarding myself with an entire pint of ice cream (but the non-dairy kind, of course).

Good luck! I know just how hard it is to find that middle ground between good eats and the little black dress.

Hmmm … at 10:36 pm I’m at 10,188! Woo-hoo! I accomplished this by walking to lunch, to dinner, and taking a little walk around the cemetery today.
Of course, Katie texts me right now to say, “10,246. Over and out.”
Hmm.
Maybe if I lay on the couch and watch TV - but take frequent bathroom breaks - I can beat her score!

Great! Stick with it! Switching to a healthier eating plan and following the 10000 step a day plan with my pedometer, I have carved of 87 pounds (of course I don’t drink beer). Walking definitely makes a difference in your life!

Wow, 87 pounds is encouraging. I’ve been a pretty huge slacker thus far with the pedometer - but 3 months walking in Europe should up my steps immensely!
