WondeRSSness

mail_interface.jpg OK: Things that make me happy today. Check this hot lil app — PulpFiction. I was in the market for a new aggregator. I was testing the Firefox, but disliked the popup blocker due to my frequent Furlage. I’d been feeling the burn from the loss of a web-based application (due to an email account that went bye-bye; I could no longer login, long story) — and I just wasn’t sure I wanted to start up the commitment again. So after much research, I stumbled upon PulpFiction, and I’m happy as a lark. It’s Mac-Friendly, with all the lovely color coding and organizational features anal girls like me need. I’m super excited about the export feature — which ensures I’ll never lose all my feeds again.

Second happy thing of the day? This really great little page, which will create an RSS feed based of a Google News query. This is a pretty kickass tool for beat reporters. For example, I created a Florida Food feed — so anytime Google News pops up an article featuring those two words, it’s showing up in my aggregator. And it will be coded orange — just like my iCal category for Food events and the section of my rainbow-betically organized filing cabinet for Food-related. Happy, Happy LauraFries.com.
